Thiago Alcântara do Nascimento, commonly known as Thiago Alcântara, is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for the Premier League club Liverpool and the Spanish national team. He was born on April 11, 1991, in San Pietro Vernotico, Italy, to Brazilian parents. His father, Mazinho, was a World Cup-winning Brazilian midfielder, and his mother, Valéria, is also a former volleyball player.
Early Life and Career: Thiago spent the early years of his life in Italy, where his father played for Lecce, but the family moved to Spain when he was just three years old. He joined FC Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia, at the age of 14 and quickly established himself as one of the most talented young players in the club’s history.
Professional Career: Thiago made his first-team debut for Barcelona in May 2009, coming on as a substitute in a La Liga game against Mallorca. He gradually became an important player for the club, winning several trophies during his time there, including four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles, and two UEFA Champions League titles. He also won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Spain in 2011 and 2013.
