PBKS (Punjab Kings) is a franchise cricket team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that was founded in 2008. Initially, the team was known as Kings XI Punjab and represented the northern state of Punjab. In 2021, the team was rebranded as Punjab Kings.
History of PBKS
PBKS made their debut in the IPL in 2008 under the ownership of Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, industrialists Ness Wadia, Mohit Burman, and Karan Paul. In their very first season, the team made it to the semi-finals but lost to the Chennai Super Kings. Chris Gayle was the highest run-scorer for the team, and Sreesanth was their top wicket-taker.
